I am Marie Z. Brown a.k.a Brownbuilt. My motto: leave no craft unlearned.
I am a self labeled Feminist Homemaker, designer, artist, and mother of the Rebels; Ladybird and Coco (twins,age 5.5) and Manly (2.5 yrs). In 2006, we planted roots in Madison, Wisconsin, with all the other over-educated-middle-class-liberal-pinko-socialists. I have some pretty clever ideas. Sometimes I remember to document and share them with you.
I believe in the power and process of craft. I am happiest when I am building; weather it’s knitting a sweater, making a doll, logging miles on the bike, or making dinner. I believe we could all stand to be more fit, own less stuff, and eat better. I believe that everyone eventually needs to grow up and “get religion” whether it is a church, museum, temple, forest…but NOT a mall. I believe love makes a family.
And then there is the laundry… always… calling… me…..
